Conflict Negotiation Skills Seminar

Dealing with conflict is something that most of us must deal with on a daily basis. Difficult situations that can cause a great deal of stress and discomfort often arise in both the business world and outside of work. Most people prefer to avoid conflict in order to minimize the tension it may cause. Unfortunately, avoiding conflict often delays reality. Rather than dealing with conflict immediately, the situation is deferred until a later date. Under these conditions, problems can fester and turn into more complicated conflicts than one might have originally faced. To more effectively reduce conflict, one needs to tackle difficult situations head-on by using negotiation skills to seek effective resolutions. Our relationship-centered Conflict Negotiation Skills Seminar teaches participants the methodologies and skills required to minimize conflict and negotiate positive outcomes at work or at home.

The Conflict Negotiations Skills Seminar is designed to help attendees deal with the reality of every-day conflict. By teaching easy-to-use, repeatable negotiation skills, our one-day seminar can lead to reduced tension and a greater ability to minimize conflict both in the present and in the future. Vie the process of focusing on interests and issues and seeking to turn conflict-ridden situations into problem-solving sessions, participants will find that relationships can actually be strengthened when resolving conflict. Our seminar teaches how to build mutually beneficial outcomes – “win-win” situations that leave both parties satisfied with discussions. Time-tested learning methodologies are used to help skills become ingrained into one’s daily routine. Simulation sessions, communication assessments, exercises, participant-led activities and lectures reinforce the learning process in this seminar. The Conflict Negotiation Skills Seminar empowers participants with the ability to take on conflict via proven negotiation skills. As a result of attending this skills-based seminar, participants will be able to stop avoiding conflict and start negotiating their way to satisfactory results.

Conflict Negotiation Skills Seminar participants will learn to:

  • Deal with conflict that arises quickly or builds up over time
  • Plan for discussions centered around a problematic situation
  • Increase personal effectiveness when handling conflict in person or on the phone
  • Overcome obstacles that may impede conflict resolution
  • Understand how to communicate more effectively with people
  • Flex their personal negotiation style based on verbal and physical cues
  • Strengthen rapport and build chemistry
  • Focus on interests and issues that lead to common agreement
  • Apply questioning skills to determine attitudes, situations and priorities
  • Identify areas of concern and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Recognize and defuse dishonest tactics
  • Handle negotiations in an ethical manner that strengthens relationships
  • Increase satisfaction and work towards positive outcomes

Training Skills Seminars, Courses & Workshops: May be scheduled at your offices Monday through Saturday.

Seminar feedback:

Just a note from Manny and I to tell you how pleased we were with the seminar we attended earlier this month. The length and material were just right to help crystallize the process of negotiations. Even if someone already knows the demerits of the course, the process and group activities help to organize and clarify where everything fits in the overall scheme of things.

DataDirect Networks, Inc. World Headquarters - Chatsworth, California

I thoroughly enjoyed the negotiations class you taught in San Francisco last month.
Although I do not negotiate on a regular basis, I feel that the negotiation tactics I learned will greatly benefit me in the long run. In fact, I have already begun to call people out when they flinch. I find that this immediately diffuses the flincher, and brings about a productive conversation or resolution.
